Whether you’re welcoming your first chinchilla or brushing up on care tips, this guide will help you understand the basics of feeding, housing, and keeping your chinchilla happy, healthy, and thriving every day.

Diet & Feeding

Unlimited hay (timothy or orchard grass) is essential for digestion and dental health.

Feed a measured portion of chinchilla specific pellets daily.

Avoid sugary foods, seeds, and nuts they can upset their stomach and cause health issues.

Water & Hydration

Always provide fresh, clean water in a bottle with a metal spout (bowls can become dirty easily).
